Use remaining portion of Old Pali Road for PRT guideway between Windward Oahu and Honolulu
http://www.portaloha.com/SecretsOfHawaii/images/PaliLookout/Mag_PaliLook...
In the above picture you can see the Old Pali Road. Partially covered by various plants, this roadway could form part of a public transportation path connecting Honolulu, Nuuanu, Pali Lookout, and Kaneohe / Kailua.

first and only response from honolulutransit.org
Below is a response I received from the people of honolulutransit.org over 2 years ago when I suggested thinking seriously about PRT for Oahu.
I do not remember any real, public discussion or mention of PRT and it's benefits at the time.
I believe it is time for a reevaluation of the technology that will be used for such an extensive and expensive public transportation project.

T-Mobile / HTC Dash 3G Smartphone upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5
Submitted by hitogether-1 on Wed, 01/27/2010 - 22:11Yesterday I did the Windows Mobile 6.5 update for the T-Mobile Dash 3G
I was concerned that Skype for Windows Mobile would not work since on the website for Skype the system requirements are listed as "Windows Mobile 5.6 and 6.1"
On January 26 I tested the latest version of Skype for Windows Mobile on this upgraded phone with good results. At first it had a little trouble signing in but now it works fine, with no problems.

T-Mobile Dash 3G with Ubuntu 9.10 - tethering works well
Submitted by hitogether-1 on Wed, 01/27/2010 - 00:20I have successfully used the T-Mobile / HTC Dash 3G as a "modem" or "tethering" device via USB on Ubuntu 9.10 and via bluetooth on Windows XP.
Ubuntu sees the phone as an ethernet port with dhcp enabled. In other words, it's about as easy as can be to do.
Just plug in the phone to the computer via USB. Then click or tap on Start, then Device Manager, then Internet Sharing.
Choose USB from the top menu then click or tap Connect.
Wait a few moments and Ubuntu will tell you it sees an ethernet connection.

T-Mobile charges for "messaging" using their included Internet applications even if you have a full internet plan
Submitted by hitogether-1 on Tue, 01/26/2010 - 21:07Yes, I got a new phone from Sam's Club with "T-Mobile Smartphone Unlimited Web" from T-Mobile on January 16. Last night I signed into my.tmobile.com to find that they had finally updated my account. I saw that my new phone was showing and the new service / plan details were showing as well. I looked a bit more into the billing and find that I am being charged "messaging" fees from Yahoo and similar non-sms messenger applications that are included in the phone - over $10 of messaging fees all from internet based instant messenger applications!

What happened to Re-E-Power? Jilted Customers, Unite!
Submitted by hitogether-1 on Mon, 01/25/2010 - 05:20Join this Google Group to communicate with other customers of the now defunct re-e-power / re-e-power.com
Customers Of RE-e-POWER - corepower

It appears that re-e-power.com has taken the money and ran.
We were in contact with Kevin Plank for over a year. Kevin is the proprietor of Re-E-Power, which seems to no longer exist.
We purchased a two motor E-Pod 2000 system in mid 2008 for our sailboat in Hawaii.

Works: Kyocera KPC680 on Cradlepoint MBR1000 with Mobi Hele service
Submitted by hitogether-1 on Fri, 01/08/2010 - 12:24This combination of hardware and service works just fine.
In the Cradle point web based administration tool, usually accessible from 192.168.0.1 go to Basic > WAN > Cellular Modem PPP Authentication (optional) and select ExpressCard then enter the information provided by Mobi for your username and password. Choose "Auto" for Authentication Protocol.
Then go to Modem > Settings > Modem Specific Settings > Access Point Name (APN) put in:
mobipcs.com
That should do it; contact me if you have any problems.
